Job opportunity: Post-doctoral position at Charles Darwin University

This is a 1 year environmental DNA postdoc at Charles Darwin University to work on a collaborative project with Northern Territory Government Department of Environment, Parks and Water Security and Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory (MAGNT) to develop eDNA resources and capacity for improving the application of eDNA methods for biodiversity survey and monitoring in the Northern Territory.

Working closely with researchers at MAGNT, the initial project phase will develop an aquatic reference database through mitochondrial genome sequencing of priority aquatic species including freshwater fish, frogs and reptiles. The project will also evaluate what is needed to maximise eDNA identification of aquatic biodiversity in the NT. Further funding is being sought to extend the project.
